4th Eurasian Congress on Emergency Medicine

INVITATION

Dear Colleagues,

We would like to cordially invite you to the 4^th Eurasian Congress on Emergency Medicine. The Eurasian Congress on Emergency Medicine (EACEM) is the most important national and international conference organized by the Emergency Medicine Association of Turkey (EMAT). We are very excited about getting together with you in our congress which will be held from November 13 to 16, 2014 at the celebrated Cornelia Diamond Congress Center in Belek, Antalya.

Emergency Medicine has been recognized as a major medical specialty in Turkey for over 20 years. From the very beginning of this process the Emergency Medicine Association of Turkey has always been the biggest supporter of all emergency medical professionals. Publications of our association and our continuing medical education activities are the main reference source for Emergency Medicine Training Institutions, Emergency Medicine specialists and practitioners, and for emergency medicine residents. The culmination of our educational activities has always been the Biennial Eurasian Congress on Emergency Medicine.

Traditionally, we will bring together important academicians, researchers, editors and world-renowned names of the Emergency Medicine community as speakers and participants. The congress is organized in cooperation with the State University of New York Downstate Medical Center (SUNY Downstate), the Singapore Emergency Medicine Association (SEMS), and with the support of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM), the Asian Society for Emergency Medicine (ASEM) and the European Society for Emergency Medicine (EuSEM).

We aim to create an environment that fosters a dialogue among the participants and the experts, leading to idea exchange and discussions, collaborations and most importantly friendship. There will be sessions in different formats such as  plenary meetings, hands-on courses, panel discussions, round table meetings, to name a few.

As in the previous years, we will give awards to the most original scientific research presentation. We are both happy and proud of observing the growth in the scientific quality and diversity of those presentations over the last years.

"Time" is one of the most valuable commodities for most people in this modern era. There is always a difference between the way we perceive time and the physical definition of time.  We, as emergency specialists, are members of one of the medical specialties which first hand experiences this perceptual difference. To increase the awareness of time in our profession, our congress will have “Time" as a theme. We will therefore make best use of your most valued asset, your time.
Some of the most important characteristics of our time are innovation and new technological developments brought to our lives. We want to both facilitate and enrich the whole congress with specially designed smart phone applications and use of virtual environments for you.

We would be delighted to welcome you in a socially enjoyable, scientifically rich, comfortable and warm environment. We want to feel completely at home, in Antalya, and in Turkey. Your participation and your contribution will be our strength.
