Dear Colleagues, It is my great pleasure and honor to invite you to Turkey for the “The 17th International Conference on Brain Edema and Cellular Injury” which will be held in Cesme, Izmir on May 2017.

I believe the participants will have a unique opportunity not only for learning, exchanging experiences and meeting top international specialists in neuroscience, but also enhanced cooperation and friendship. In addition to a top-rate scientific program, there will be many opportunities for exciting social events.

The congress venue provides excellent atmosphere to socially enjoy your time and spend peaceful moments in Izmir, which hosts many ancient cities in the world. Izmir has always been an important seaport and a center of attraction for scientists and artists. One of the notable physicians of Ancient Rome, Galen (201-131 B.C) was born and trained in Pergamum, known now as Bergama, Izmir. Pergamum was home to another scientist, Oribasius (325-403 B.C). The ancient city of Ephesus, which is 70 km far from Izmir today, was the birthplace of Soranus (98-138 B.C), who wrote the first biography of Hippocrates, made significant contributions to neuroscience.
